Much on Tap for Summer 2009
A spring of good news, good reviews, good gigs and good times is becoming a summer of the same. Here's what's happening:
- Peter and Eric Brace are spending much of June in England, Holland, Germany and Belgium, playing for the people. There is one Nashville gig in June: A few hours after Peter sets foot on American soil on June 9, he'll be playing a 9 p.m. Bluebird Cafe show with Terri Hendrix, Craig Bickhardt and Walt Wilkins.
- Peter and Eric will be playing plenty of shows in the fall, including dates opening for Nanci Griffith and Chris Smither.
- Positive notices keep rolling in, including recent mentions in the New York Times and Country Weekly.
- Peter and Eric have announced a September 25 show at Nashville's Station Inn, where they'll appear with what could be a once-in-a-lifetime band. Pedal steel guitar Hall of Famer Lloyd Green and International Bluegrass Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mike Auldridge (he was an integral part of legendary bluegrass group The Seldom Scene) will play onstage together for the first time. Pat McInereney of Nanci Griffith's Blue Moon Orchestra, Dave Roe (he played for years with Johnny Cash) and Jen Gunderman (The Jayhawks, Last Train Home and each of Peter's recordings) will complete the group.
- All of the players on the Sept. 25 show have been in the studio together recently, working on an upcoming release that includes songs from Peter, Eric, Tom T. Hall, John Hartford, Jon Byrd and Herb Pederson.

Plus, and it is currently in the Top 10 of the Americana chart.

| Successful Mission Door Release Includes
Special Guests
The Nashville release party for Peter's Mission Door album and Fayssoux McLean's Early album (which Peter produced and sang on) was March 21, 2008 at the legendary Station Inn. In front of a sellout crowd, Peter performed with an all-star band that included the steel guitar hall of famer Lloyd Green, Nashville guitar hero Bill Lloyd, keyboard/accordion dynamo Jen Gunderman, bass virtuoso Dave Pomeroy and funkier-than-thou percussion pro Paul Griffith. Emmylou Harris kicked in harmony vocals during Fayssoux's set, and Kim Carnes and Eric Brace (Last Train Home leader and Red Beet Records co-owner) joined Peter during his set.
Photographer Deone Jahnke was there to capture some of the night's moments on camera. Check out the Gallery to view these images in more detail. |
